Today we can’t imagine even a single day’s life without computers and information technology (IT). This is one of the most demanding and growing area of opportunity in terms of career and employment. The B.Sc. CA and B.Sc. IT degree provide a strong foundation in various areas of Computer Application/ Information Technology. B.Sc. CA hons was started in Gossner College in 2003 with 50 seats and B.Sc. IT hons was started in Gossner College in 2008 with 50 seats. Since then many batches of students have been run successfully in this college. Many students of B.Sc. CA and B.Sc. IT hons have reached a good position in their career and life after successfully completing this course. Today we have 125 seats in CA and IT department each.

Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) course curriculum has been adopted by the department since 2018. With the introduction of CBCS, the syllabus has been upgraded to match the highest standards. The department is also ready to adopt New Education Policy 2020 as and when University directs it.

Aim and Objective : The aim of CA and IT course is to produce graduates with advanced expertise in IT, capable of solving real world challenges through their acquired knowledge and reasoning. It fosters critical thinking and problem solving abilities in IT related issues. It prepares students for leadership roles and higher level positions in the IT industry.

Teachers: The CA and IT department has a rich pool of well qualified and experienced teachers. The department is currently headed by Prof. Ranjit Kumar Mishra and supported by faculty members Prof. Priyanka Priti Toppo, Prof. Jay Prakash Keshri and Prof. Jyoti Choudhary. The department also takes services of IT experts and guest faculties from time to time depending upon the requirement.

Placements: The department has very good record of both on-campus and off campus placement over the years. The students have managed to secure a good position in career after completing this course. Nowadays many multinational IT companies invite students for online placements.

Computer Lab : Computer LAB is very crucial for shaping students educational experiences and preparing them for future in IT industry. CA and IT department is well equipped with computer lab with updated hardware and software to meet the requirement of modern day. The students can reinforce their learning about theories in practical classes. The students are also encouraged to make use of lab in leisure time.

Library : Library plays a vital role in promoting knowledge and education. The departmental library of CA and IT is fully furnished with a large collection of books related to course. The students can issue books from library and complement classroom learning.
